(Story Of A Guy) Hopelessly Addicted (02.12.08)

This is the story of a guy
Who was hopelessly addicted to an ignorant girl
And while he gets so down when he’s ignored
He absolutely opens up
When she talks

How many hours in a day
He woke up with hope but he only found fears?
People can be so insincere
Making the truth never too real
As long as he stands there looking
Wearing the holes in the souls of his shoes
How many days don’t appear?
He looks in the mirror and goes how do you choose?

And the ideas that he wears
Suit him well the next day
He never falls down quite the same way
He never seems to run out of ideas to give away

This is the story of a guy
And while he gets so down when he’s ignored
He absolutely opens up
When she talks

How many people would care?
Just to keep up with this charade day after day
How did we end up this day?
Guarding our tongues for the things they say
As long as they stand there looking
Wearing the clothes on the souls of our shoes
How do we avoid there today?
When we’re going too far for the piurce of their love

And the ideas that he wears
Suit him well the next day
He never falls down quite the same way
He never seems to run out of ideas to give away

This is the story of a guy
Who was hopelessly addicted to an ignorant girl
And while he gets so down when he’s ignored
He absolutely opens up
When she talks

And the ideas that he wears
Suit him well the next day
He never falls down quite the same way
He never seems to run out of ideas to give away

This is the story of a guy
Who was hopelessly addicted to an ignorant girl
And while he gets so down when he’s ignored
He absolutely opens up

This is the story of a guy
His individualist ideas from the world
And while he looks so down and depressed there
He absolutely opens up

This is the story of a guy
Who was hopelessly addicted to an ignorant girl
And while he gets so down when he’s ignored
He absolutely opens up
When she talks
When she talks!

A Little Bit Creepy (19.12.08)

It’s a little
Bit creepy
That you know
So much
About me
When I know
So little
About myself

It’s a little
Bit creepy
That you know me
Inside out
When I don’t
Even know
My outside self

I don’t care
What you got
In store,
Please don’t be concerned
For me
But it’s just
Too convenient
For you
To show up
At my door

This is
My time
To run
‘Cause you are
Keeping me away
In the night

It’s a little
Bit creepy
To find you
Waiting for me
Everywhere I run,
Don’t you think?

A Test Of Faith (19.12.08)

Life is
The true test
Of faith;
It can shake you
To your core
Or reaffirm
Your faith
In man

Everything
Around us
Is a test
Of faith;
Strength and fortitude

Life itself
Is a test
Of faith;
War can challenge
Your beliefs
In a just God
And charity
Makes you thankful
For a generous God

A test of faith
Isn’t about shill
Strength or intelligence
It’s about
How you use
You ability
To master
Your worries

To survive
Each day
Or to die
Is a test
Of faith

A Train Wreck In Slow Motion (19.12.08)

My life
Is now
A train wreck
In slow motion,
A pile up
At one
Of life’s crossings

The carnage
Is piling up
All around me
And I can
Do nothing
To avoid it

The things
I have tried
To separate
Are coming together now
In a crashing crescendo
Of metal

My life,
My love,
My writing.
And everything else
Are now
Becoming a train wreck
In slow motion,
Due to some
Stupid decisions
I’ve made
With my life

My life
Is now
A train wreck
In slow motion,
Everything I tried
To keep apart
Is now
Coming together
As one
And it is
Too bloody chaotic
For me
To handle
Right now

All The King's Men (19.12.08)

All the King’s men;
The best,
The fairest
And the brightest
Of a young nation
Lost in a tragic war
That should have
Never happened

All the King’s men,
People’s sons,
Fathers and uncles
All lost
To a relentless
But eventually defeated enemy

May God
Look out
For those poor,
Lost souls
And may they
Rest in peace
If they ever find peace
In this realm

All muddied
In the trenches,
Born again
As men
And as soldiers
Of a forgotten cause

All the King’s men
Proudly fought
And now lie
Alongside their common brothers
For the defence
Of the greater good

They were
Eventually consumed
By everyone’s foe
Back then;
Time and nature

They lost battles,
Skirmishes and incursions
But the King’s men
And the people’s champions
Fought on
To win
The war
That should have
Never happened

All the King’s men;
The brave,
The young,
The foolish
And the adventurous
All died
Those fateful days

All the King’s men;
All of the forgotten,
Unnamed, lost and damned men
Served proudly
For an empire
That wasn’t their
But it was
In common interest
For them
To defend
The empire
They couldn’t call
Their own

Alternative Forms Of Expression (19.12.08)

You have
Got to consider
Alternative forms
Of expression
In your life

You can’t go on
Being the same,
Boring and old conformist;
You gotta consider
Alternative forms
Of expression
And you gotta change
Every now
And then
In order
To keep up
With society changing

Sexy songs,
Maverick movies,
Powerful plays,
Scary stories
And brilliant books
Are all
Alternative forms
Of expression
To talking
With your mouth
Instead of your heart

For once
In your lifetime
Can you consider
Any of the alternative
Forms of expression
I’m giving you?

I want
An answer
From your heart
Not from
Your head

Always Prepare For The Worst (19.12.08)

We humans
Always prepare
For the worst
‘Cause we never know
What going
To come
For us

We could
Drop dead
Right now
And there’s nothing
We can do
About it

We must
Always prepare
For the worst
‘Cause the worst
Always seems
To happen
To us

There’s war,
Disease and famine
In this world
And we can
Do nothing
To prevent it
From happening

We must
Always prepare
For the worst
‘Cause the worst
Always seems
To come
For us
